Search engines truncate long titles and descriptions with an ellipsis. Keeping a title near 60 characters and a description near 155 keeps the whole message visible in results.

Many form fields and database columns cap input at a set number of characters. Checking the count first avoids submissions that get silently cut.

Yes — the main Characters figure includes spaces and line breaks. The separate Characters (no spaces) figure excludes all whitespace.

What is a good meta description length?
