Free Online Day Counter
This is a free day counter that tells you how many days are between two dates. Pick a start date and an end date, and it instantly shows the number of days, plus weeks, weekdays, and a full years-months-days breakdown. Everything is worked out in your browser — there is nothing to install and no account to create.
You can also use it to count the days until a date, like a birthday, holiday, or deadline, or the days since a date in the past. Just set one side to today and pick the other date.
How to Use the Day Counter
Count the Days Between Two Dates
Choose your first date in the From box and your second date in the To box. The big number is the number of days between them. Below it you get the same length shown as weeks, working days, weekend days, months, hours, and a plain "X years, Y months, Z days" summary.
Count the Days Until a Date
Press Set to today under the From box, then pick your target day in the To box. The result is how many days there are from today until that date — a quick countdown to an event, trip, or due date.
Count the Days Since a Date
Do the opposite: set the From box to a past date and press Set to today under the To box. Now the counter shows how many days have passed since that date, which is handy for anniversaries, streaks, or how old something is in days.
Include the End Day (or Not)
By default the day counter measures the gap between the two dates and does not count the end day itself. If you need both the first and the last day included — for example when counting the total number of nights or days of an event — tick Include the end day and the total goes up by one.
Calendar Days vs. Weekdays
The counter separates two things people often mix up. Calendar days count every single day, weekends included — this is the headline number. Weekdays count only Monday to Friday, which is what you usually want for working days, business deadlines, notice periods, and shipping estimates. The weekend days figure is simply everything left over, so weekdays and weekend days always add back up to the total.
What People Use a Day Counter For
Counting Down to an Event
See exactly how many days are left until a wedding, birthday, holiday, concert, exam, or vacation. It turns a date on the calendar into a clear number you can watch shrink.
Project and Work Deadlines
Work out how many days — or how many working days — you have until a deadline, launch, or hand-off. The weekday figure is often the honest one for planning real work.
Anniversaries and Milestones
Count the days since you started something: a relationship, a new job, a sober streak, a habit, or the day a baby was born. It is a simple way to mark how far you have come.
Age and Duration in Days
Find out how many days old someone or something is, or how long a trip, subscription, or stay lasted, right down to the exact day.
Notice Periods and Legal Dates
Many notice periods, returns windows, and legal deadlines are measured in a fixed number of days. Enter the start date and the deadline to see how much time is really left.
Day Counter vs. Other Counters
This tool counts time between dates, not clicks. If instead you want to keep a running tally by pressing a button, use the click counter or the tally counter. To make a number change on its own at a set pace, try the auto counter, and to keep several separate counts at once, the main online counter lets you create and name as many as you need.
