Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use OnlineCounter.org ("the Site", "we", "us"), how it is used, and the choices you have. OnlineCounter.org is a free set of online counting tools. We aim to collect as little data as possible and never ask you to create an account or provide personal details to use the tools.

Information Stored On Your Device

The counters, scores, names, and settings you create are saved directly in your browser using localStorage. This data stays on your own device. It is not transmitted to us or to any server, we cannot see it, and it is not shared with anyone. You can erase it at any time by clearing your browser's site data or using private/incognito mode.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, to understand how visitors use the Site (for example, which tools are most popular and which countries visitors come from). Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, your approximate location derived from your IP address, your device and browser type, and the site that referred you.

This information is aggregated and used to improve the Site. You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting data by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. OnlineCounter.org and its third-party partners (such as Google) may use cookies and similar technologies (including web beacons and pixels) for analytics and, where advertising is shown, for serving and measuring ads. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies will not stop the counting tools from working, since those rely on local storage rather than cookies.

Advertising

OnlineCounter.org may display advertisements served by Google, including through Google AdSense, as well as by other third-party advertising vendors. When ads are shown:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • These third parties may use cookies, web beacons, and IP addresses to collect information in the course of serving ads, in accordance with their own privacy policies.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info (or youronlinechoices.eu in Europe). For more information about how Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps, see Google's Privacy & Terms.

Visitors From the European Economic Area, UK, and Switzerland

If you are located in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we (and our advertising partners) will seek your consent before setting non-essential cookies or serving personalized ads, as required by applicable law. You may withdraw or change your consent at any time through the consent controls provided on the Site or through your browser settings.

Children's Privacy

OnlineCounter.org is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Advertising shown on the Site is not targeted to children.

Data Security and Retention

Because we do not operate accounts or store your counter data on our servers, there is no personal profile for us to lose. Analytics and advertising data are processed and retained by Google and other third parties according to their own policies. The Site is served over HTTPS to protect data in transit.

Your Choices

  • Clear your local counter data by clearing this site's data in your browser.
  • Block or delete cookies through your browser settings.
  • Opt out of Google Analytics with the opt-out add-on.
  • Manage ad personalization at Google Ads Settings and aboutads.info.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
